We brought in the new year with good friends, games, and fireworks. It was a great ending to a very challenging year. Here is a list of highlights and lowlights of the Eskelson Five in 2011:
-Baby Turtle joined our family in June
-Tiger participated in soccer and flag football, and joined the Gifted Program at his school
-Toad loved his gymnastic classes as well as participating in soccer for the first time
-Sam completed his Comprehensive exams and his 2nd year at the University of Pittsburgh
-Sam coached Toad's soccer team and loved it
-Denise became the Vice-President of Tiger's PTO as well as the Boxtops Coordinator and the RS Meeting Coordinator
-Denise also was diagnosed with pemphigoid gestationis, a rare pregnancy-induced autoimmune disease
-We remodeled our stellar, 50's inspired kitchen
-Toad received his very first stitches (5!) after a fall at the public library
-We had grandparents visit five times this year; we were so blessed
-Took a wonderful family vacation to North Carolina
-Denise continued with 4 piano students and they performed in their first recital
Toad started a full day preschool program and seems to have his teacher wrapped around his finger
-Turtle learned to roll over and smiles bigger than life
-Bought season passes to our local waterpark
-Denise had three separate hospital stays and over 50 appointments with doctors and specialists
-Tiger lost three teeth and more are loose
-Sam worked very hard to establish a Young Men's program with no active young men
-Denise was in charge of her first Super Saturday and Christmas Program
-We played many board games, visited lots of parks, had tons of friends overs, swam in the pool at the neighbors, were active in our church and supported many activities, and above all, loved being together.
Here's to 2012 where we expect life to keep rolling at hyper-speed as we continue to enjoy our experience here in Pittsburgh.
