Sam and I went to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra last night and it was just plain awesome. To those who might need a history lesson, Glenn Miller started an orchestra in 1938 in the "Big Band" style. In 1942 he enlisted in the Air Force to help out with the war efforts, and several years later on a mission over the English Channel, his plane went missing. Ever since, the all-male orchestra has toured the world playing his songs and honoring Veterans. Sam grew to love their music from Jazz Band in high school and he was clearly in Heaven last night. I was in Heaven because he planned the entire night (child care included) by himself. We were able to watch them perform at a private academy in Fox Chapel, northeast of Pittsburgh. Like I said, awesome!
